Bright Data Tools Now in DigitalOcean Action Gateway

Bright Data and DigitalOcean are building toward a world where any team can go from web data access to a fully managed, scalable agent, with no infrastructure to think about. Today is the first step.

Bright Data’s tools are now available in DigitalOcean Action Gateway, solving a major challenge for agent builders right now. Very few agents can reliably reach the data that drives real decisions, such as competitor prices, stock levels, and reviews, because that data often sits on sites that automated traffic cannot reliably access. The usual fix is custom code that breaks when sites change, or static datasets that no agent can act on in real time.

Neither is good enough for an agent that needs to act.

Through Action Gateway, your agents can now call Bright Data tools the same way they call anything else in the gateway, through the same endpoint you already use. No new infrastructure. No new contracts to manage. No code to maintain.

Your agent can now:

  • Search the live web for real-time results, from the source
  • Access any public page, including sites that present technical challenges to automated traffic
  • Extract structured data, clean and ready to use, with no parsing required
  • Act on dynamic pages that require navigation and interaction, or draw from Bright Data’s pre-collected, dynamically refreshed datasets across 100+ domains

If you are a retailer running a pricing agent, this means your agent can not only report, but act on data. It can read internal order history and recall that last month’s discount on a product category lifted revenue without compressing margin. With Bright Data, it can also access this morning’s competitor prices and reviews from across the web, and factor all of it into its recommendation before it acts. Each recommendation and its outcome feed DigitalOcean’s learning system, so the agent improves with every decision.

Phase two will include integrating Bright Data’s datasets into DigitalOcean’s Agent Data Services, enabling agents to analyze public web data alongside your own data in a single query, no switching between tools, no data movement.

In phase three, Bright Data will deploy its own agents that are built and deployed on DigitalOcean Managed Agents. That means customers of both companies will have a fully managed path, from web data access to a running, scalable agent, with no infrastructure to think about.

Bright Data tools are available today in the DigitalOcean Managed Agents public preview. Add Bright Data in Action Gateway or visit digitalocean.com/products/managed-agents.
