Partner Program FAQ
Program Overview
What is the Bright Data Partner Program?
The Bright Data Partner Program is a structured channel program that enables qualified firms to resell, refer, or build solutions with Bright Data's web data infrastructure products. It is designed to help partners expand their offerings, generate new revenue streams, and bring Bright Data to customers in new markets and territories.
What types of partnerships does Bright Data offer?
Bright Data currently offers four partnership models:
- Referral Partner — introduces potential customers to Bright Data and earns a commission on converted revenue
- Certified Reseller — purchases Bright Data products at a discount and resells directly to customers
- Premier Reseller — manages the full customer lifecycle including onboarding, support, and growth, at a higher discount level
- Strategic Alliance — global technology platforms such as AWS, Snowflake, and Databricks that co-sell and/or list Bright Data on their marketplace
What products can partners sell or refer?
Partners can sell or refer the full Bright Data product portfolio including Web Unlocker, Browser API, SERP API, Scraper APIs, Datasets, Web Archive, Retail Intelligence, Managed Data Acquisition, and AI/web access products. The full and current product list is available at brightdata.com/pricing.
Is the partner program available globally?
Yes. Bright Data is actively recruiting partners globally. Specific territory rights are defined in each partner's agreement.
How is the Bright Data partner program different from the affiliate program?
The affiliate program is designed for content creators, bloggers, and marketers who promote Bright Data to a broad audience in exchange for a commission. The partner program is designed for firms that actively sell, implement, or refer Bright Data as part of their business offering. Different agreements, different economics, and different support models apply.
Becoming a Partner
How do I apply to become a partner?
Submit a partner application via the intake form. Our partnerships team will review your application and respond within 5 business days.
Is there a cost to joining the partner program?
No. There is no fee to apply or join the partner program.
What does Bright Data look for in a partner?
We look for firms that have:
- real customer relationships in our target segments or territories
- technical capability to understand and position Bright Data products
- an active sales or business development function
- a compliance-aware culture compatible with our AUP
- genuine motivation to build a productive partnership — not just a passive commercial arrangement
Can I apply as an individual consultant rather than a company?
The referral program is open to qualified individuals. The reseller program requires a registered legal entity with the financial and operational capability to enter into a commercial agreement.
Can I be both a reseller and a referral partner?
No. These are separate agreements with different commercial models. You will be assigned to the model that best fits your business at the time of onboarding. You can discuss upgrading your model with your Partner Manager as your relationship with Bright Data evolves.
What happens after my application is approved?
You will receive:
- a partner agreement for review and signature
- an introduction to your Partner Manager
- access to the partner onboarding process including training and enablement materials
- instructions for completing KYC and AUP compliance requirements before your account is activated
REFERRAL PARTNER FAQ
Commercial Model
How does the referral commercial model work?
As a referral partner, you introduce potential customers to Bright Data. Bright Data manages the full sales process and closes the deal directly. When the referred customer makes their first payment, your 12-month commission period begins. You are never responsible for selling, implementing, or supporting the product.
How is my referral commission calculated?
The commission is based on a percentage of net revenue generated by the referred customer for a period of 12 months from the date of their first payment to Bright Data. Net Revenue means amounts actually received by Bright Data from the customer, excluding taxes, credits, refunds, and adjustments.
When and how am I paid?
Bright Data issues a monthly commission statement within 15 business days of month end. Payment is made within 30 days of month end in USD. You do not need to submit an invoice — payment is made automatically based on Bright Data's records.
What counts as a new customer for referral purposes?
A new customer is a legal entity that did not have an active or pending account with Bright Data at the time your referral was submitted and approved. Bright Data will confirm at the approval stage whether the customer qualifies as new.
What if the agreement is terminated during an active commission period?
If Bright Data terminates the agreement for convenience, you retain the right to commissions for the remainder of active 12-month commission periods on referrals approved before termination. If you terminate or if Bright Data terminates for cause, commissions stop on the termination date.
Can I dispute a commission statement?
Yes. You must raise a written dispute within 30 days of receiving the statement. Undisputed amounts are paid on the standard schedule. Disputed amounts are reviewed and resolved within 30 days.
Deal Registration - Referral Partners
What is deal registration for referral partners?
Deal registration is the process by which you formally notify Bright Data of a customer you intend to introduce. Once approved, it establishes your right to earn a commission on that customer's revenue for 12 months — provided the introduction is made within the protection window.
Why do I need to register before making an introduction?
Registration establishes your attribution. If you introduce a customer without an approved registration, you have no guaranteed right to a commission. There are no retroactive registrations under any circumstances.
How do I register a referral?
Submit your referral registration through the dedicated referral registration page. You will need to provide:
- customer legal entity name and country
- primary contact name and title at the customer
- description of the customer's intended use case
- nature of your relationship with the customer
- how you intend to make the introduction
How long does registration approval take?
Bright Data will respond within 3 business days with an approval, rejection, or request for additional information.
What happens when my registration is approved?
You will receive a confirmation email with your registration reference number and a 90-day window to make the introduction. Do not make the introduction before receiving written approval.
How do I document the introduction?
When you make the introduction, notify Bright Data by email to [email protected] quoting your reference number, or copy your Partner Manager on the introduction email. This is required for commission attribution. Undocumented introductions may result in disputed commission claims.
How long does referral registration protection last?
90 days from the date of approval to make the introduction. One 30-day extension is available on written request before the expiry date.
What are the criteria for a referral registration to be approved?
- The customer does not already have an active or pending account with Bright Data
- No other partner has an existing approved registration for the same customer
- The customer's intended use case complies with the Bright Data AUP
- Your submission includes all required information
- You have a genuine existing relationship with the customer
What happens if my registration is rejected?
You will receive an email with the reason. Common reasons include:
- the customer is already a Bright Data customer or in an active conversation
- another partner has an existing registration for the same customer
- the described use case does not comply with the AUP
- incomplete submission
What if two referral partners register the same customer?
The first approved registration takes priority. The second partner will be notified that the registration cannot be approved without identifying the other partner.
If a company is already in Bright Data's CRM or lead list but has not yet become a customer, am I still eligible for a referral fee if my introduction leads to a closed deal?
It depends on the status of that company in our system. If the company exists in our database but there is no active sales conversation or open opportunity, we are open to reviewing eligibility on a case-by-case basis — particularly where you have a genuine existing relationship and your introduction meaningfully advances the deal. If Bright Data already has an active sales conversation or open opportunity with that company, the referral fee would not apply.
The simplest way to avoid any ambiguity is to submit a referral registration before making any introduction. We will confirm within 3 business days whether the company qualifies. If you have a specific company in mind, we recommend discussing it with your Partner Manager before signing so we can check the status upfront.
What if the customer contacts Bright Data directly during my protection window?
Bright Data will notify you. The customer's direct approach does not automatically invalidate your registration. Both parties will discuss how to handle it.
Do I need to update Bright Data on the status of my referral?
Yes. You should notify Bright Data once the introduction has been made. After that, Bright Data owns the sales process. If your registration is nearing expiry and no introduction has been made, contact your Partner Manager to discuss an extension or release.
Compliance and AUP
What is the Bright Data Acceptable Use Policy?
The AUP defines permitted and prohibited uses of Bright Data products. All referral partners must acknowledge the AUP at agreement signing and must not refer any customer whose intended use case they know or reasonably suspect to be in violation. The full AUP is at brightdata.com/acceptable-use-policy.
What are examples of prohibited use cases I should screen for?
Do not refer customers who intend to use Bright Data products for: ad fraud, fake social engagement, collecting non-public data without authorization, spam, ticket bots, gambling, cryptocurrency manipulation, DDoS attacks, or SEO manipulation.
What happens if I refer a customer who later violates the AUP?
If Bright Data determines that you knew or reasonably should have known about the violation at the time of referral, Bright Data may recover commissions paid in relation to that customer.
Do I have any KYC obligations as a referral partner?
As a referral partner, you are required to document the customer's intended use case before submitting a registration and confirm it appears AUP-compliant. Bright Data conducts the formal KYC process directly with the customer as part of onboarding.
What agreement do I sign as a referral partner?
You sign the Bright Data Referral Agreement, which will be shared with you by our partnership team following your application review.

RESELLER PARTNER FAQ
Partner Tiers
What are the reseller tiers?
The reseller program has two tiers:
- Certified — focused on selling Bright Data products with Bright Data providing ongoing customer support
- Premier — manages the full customer lifecycle including onboarding, first-tier support, and account growth
Can I join at Premier tier directly?
No. All new reseller partners start at Certified tier regardless of company size or experience. This allows both parties to establish the relationship, validate fit, and build a track record before progressing to Premier. Promotion to Premier tier is based on demonstrated performance against the Premier requirements and is reviewed annually by your Partner Manager.
How often is my tier reviewed?
Bright Data conducts an annual tier review. If you fall below your tier requirements, you will receive written notice with a 60-day period to remediate before any tier change takes effect.
What happens if I am downgraded to a lower tier?
Your discount rate and benefits adjust to reflect the lower tier from the date of downgrade. Active deal registrations approved before the downgrade retain the original discount rate.
Commercial Model
How does the reseller commercial model work?
You purchase Bright Data products at a discount from list price and resell them to your customers. You set your own resale price subject to the minimum resale price. You are responsible for invoicing and collecting payment from customers. You pay Bright Data regardless of whether your customer has paid you.
What discount do resellers receive?
Reseller discounts are determined by partner tier — Certified partners receive a standard discount and Premier partners receive a higher rate reflecting their deeper investment and commitment. Exact rates are confirmed during onboarding and set out in your Partner Agreement. Contact us at [email protected] to discuss the specifics.
Is there a maximum resale price?
No. You may charge above list price to reflect the value of services, implementation, or support you deliver alongside the product.
Where can I see Bright Data's current list price?
At brightdata.com/pricing. Bright Data will provide at least 30 days' written notice before any list price increase. Price decreases take effect immediately.
What are the payment terms?
All invoices are payable within 30 days of the invoice date in USD.
Am I responsible for paying Bright Data if my customer does not pay me?
Yes. Your payment obligation to Bright Data is unconditional and does not depend on your customer paying you.
Can I negotiate a lower discount for a specific deal?
Yes, in exceptional circumstances. Any exception must be requested in writing before deal closure and approved in writing by the Bright Data VP of Channels. Verbal commitments are not binding.
Deal Registration — Resellers
What is deal registration for resellers?
Deal registration is the process by which you formally notify Bright Data of a sales opportunity you are pursuing. Once approved, it gives you exclusive commercial protection on that opportunity — meaning Bright Data will not bypass you and sell directly to that customer during the protection period.
Why do I need to register a deal?
Registration protects your discount and your exclusivity on the opportunity. Without an approved registration, you have no commercial protection and your discount may not apply to that deal. There are no retroactive registrations under any circumstances.
How do I register a deal?
Submit your deal registration through the dedicated reseller registration page at https://brightdata.com/partners/reseller_DR. You will need to provide:
- Customer legal entity name and country
- Primary contact name and title
- Estimated deal size
- Description of the customer's intended use case
- Current stage of your conversation with the customer
- Estimated close date
- Products you intend to resell
How long does registration approval take?
Bright Data will respond within 3 business days with an approval, rejection, or request for additional information.
What happens when my deal registration is approved?
You will receive a confirmation email with:
- Your registration reference number
- Protection expiry date (90 days from approval)
- Confirmed applicable discount rate
- Instructions for placing the Purchase Order when the deal closes
- You may proceed with your sales motion immediately. You own the sales process — Bright Data supports.
How long does deal registration protection last?
90 days from the date of approval. One extension of 90 days is available on written request before the expiry date.
What are the criteria for a deal registration to be approved?
- The customer does not already have an active or pending account with Bright Data
- No other partner has an existing approved registration for the same customer
- The opportunity is within your approved territory
- The customer's intended use case complies with the Bright Data AUP
- Your submission is complete
What happens if my deal registration is rejected?
You will receive an email with the reason. Common reasons include:
- The customer is already a Bright Data customer
- Another partner has an existing registration for the same customer
- The opportunity is outside your approved territory
- The use case does not comply with the AUP
Can I appeal a rejection?
Yes. Reply to the rejection email within 5 business days quoting your reference number if you believe the decision is incorrect. Escalated disputes are reviewed by the VP of Channels within 5 business days.
What happens if two resellers register the same customer?
The first approved registration takes priority. The second partner is notified without identifying the first partner.
Can Bright Data sell directly to a customer I have registered?
Bright Data will not bypass an approved deal registration and sell directly to a registered customer without your written consent during the protection period. Bright Data retains the right to sell directly to customers who approach Bright Data independently without your involvement.
What if a registered customer contacts Bright Data directly during my protection period?
Bright Data will notify you and discuss jointly how to handle the situation. The customer's direct approach does not automatically invalidate your registration.
How do I request an extension?
Contact [email protected] before your expiry date, quoting your reference number and providing a brief deal status update. Extensions are granted at Bright Data's discretion.
What happens when a deal registration expires?
Your protection ends. Bright Data may pursue the opportunity directly or approve a registration from another partner. You will receive automated notifications at 14 days and 3 days before expiry.
Do I need to keep Bright Data updated on deal progress?
Yes. You are required to provide a brief monthly update per active registration. Consistent lack of updates may result in your registration being reviewed and potentially released. Use the monthly update format provided by your Partner Manager.

What training is required before I can start selling?
Partner's staff must complete Bright Data partners training courses, before the account is activated, based on the following guidelines:

- Presales staff must complete "Bright Data Solutions certification" before managing customer sales cycles independently

Bright Data Sales Specialist, ~4-6 hours
Do certifications expire?
Yes. Annual recertification is required. You will be notified 30 days before any certification expires.
What happens if a certified person leaves the organization?
You have 30 days to certify a replacement. If the minimum certified headcount falls below the tier requirement, deal registration rights remain active during this 30-day window. If not remedied, your account will be placed on watch status.
Can I request Bright Data Solutions Consultant support on a customer deal?
Yes. Contact your Partner Manager to arrange SC support for demos, technical discovery, or POC scoping. Premier partners have a dedicated SC available for up to 3 integrations per quarter. Certified partners may request SC support for complex situations.
